This reminds me that I need to reconnect with old pleasures–buttons, thread, and fabric.

There is such a thing as too much twitter, too much social networking, and too much virtual design!

Clearly it is time to hit the antique stores in the endless hunt for old textiles. All those lovely dresser scarves, crocheted doilies, and old quilts. Just looking at the beautiful work creates a special connection to women from the past.

One of the things I like a lot about the edublogs.org site is the wonderful selection of themes they make available to users.

I have been struggling with a series of cold, grey, nasty fronts in my part of the world, and therefore a cheery melon colored theme was a positive action to fight the winter blahs!

Currently, I am using Garland 1.0 and I have raided lovely colors out of the early morning iGoogle cityscape theme.

My friend gives me some hyacinths each year. She puts them in a tall, glass vase with colored glass pebbles in the bottom. This year, they bloomed on Christmas day!

Now that I am equipped with a large magnifying glass and a goosenecked light, maybe I can see well enough to try my hand at embroidery again! I have a huge tin of buttons and boxes of thread, which should supply ample inspiration. Now, I just have to find my embroidery needles. . .
